On a mini-vacation, and enjoying a great Airbnb down here in Arapohoe, NC. The place has kayaks and creek access, so I spent a couple hours together fishing and catching. With the warm, sunny conditions, the fish were active, and I landed a half dozen largemouth bass and pickerel. Yellow clouser minnows on a floating line were the go-to, and I usually was casting to disturbances on the surface on the slick calm water.
Tomorrow I’m hoping to go for stripers, red drum, and speckled trout – just need to figure out where at. Fishing reports show them inshore near me, and not out towards the barrier islands of the outer banks.
Happy New Years to my readers, and I hope you all find plenty of time this coming year to get to some water, any water, and wet a line.
