The gunpowder is fishing well. Water levels are low, but the fish are concentrated anywhere the water is knee deep.
Fish are eating griffith’s gnats, swung pheasant tail nymphs, and terrestrials. The gnat did the best for me during my late morning and early afternoon trip, and the fishing got silly good a few times. My 3wt was right for the low water levels, coupled with a 10’+ leader and 7X tippet.
The whole morning I was out last weekend, the only other angler I saw was in the parking lot. Not bad for the only tail-water within striking distance of DC and Baltimore.
