Sailing and Fishing the Middle Chesapeake

*Catching up on a bunch of late posts after a busy summer (and before a busy winter).  These trips occurred near middle June and again in July.

Back from another trip to the West Coast, I met up with my friend to fish the islands of the lower Chesapeake.  We hooked a speckled trout or two, but the fishing was slow.  The beer drinking and conversation, on the other hand, made the day.

Holland Island, or what remains of it.

A few weeks later, I joined my same friend for a trip on his sailboat, aptly named Penny.  We sailed from Solomons Island, and enjoyed brisk winds and sunny skies.

Each time I go sailing, I fall in love with it just a little more.
